A vintage diamond, garnet and pearl ring, a cluster of garnets are inter-set with small rough diamonds, surrounding a small central pearl, a very pretty vintage ring.
Measurements and marks:
The shank has a just decipherable stamp for 9ct on the inside, no other stamps or hallmarks. It is very difficult to date this ring, it could be early to late 1800's to early 1900's. The closed back setting would point to Georgian as well as the combination of gold and silver however the style of the 9ct stamp is later so it is possible that the shank/band is a replacement. The six garnets are pink-purple round and faceted approx 3.8mm in diameter, there are 19 x 1mm small rough diamonds, a couple of these are missing. The 2mm pearl in the centre is set in a gold star, the diamonds set in silver. Ring size 6.75, rings can be re-sized.
Condition:
This ring shows evidence of it's age, there is a dark metal on the back where there setting and band may have been repaired. There are four small diamonds missing.
