Where do the rings come from?
Rings are sourced from all over the world ; Europe and USA however, most come from England. They come from trusted dealers, auctions and private sellers.
How old are Antique Jewellery and Vintage Jewellery? What are pre-owned?
Antique Jewellery is over 100 years old. Jewellery over 40 years old is considered Vintage. Some pieces were made in the last forty years, some are preowned, some new.
What happens when you first get a ring?
Each piece is cleaned in the Ultrasound machine and inspected for repairs or damage. Then, hallmarks and stamps are examined. Diamonds and Gemstones are tested with electronic testers, other gemmology equipment such as a polariscope and examined through the loupe. Rings with gemstones over a particular size may be brought for further Gemmological verification.
How can you tell how old a ring is if there is no date stamp?
It is ideal when a ring has a date hallmark, however this isn't always the case especially with older rings. There are many factors that indicate age e.g the type of piece it is, the type of gold e.g 15kt was the gold standard in Britain around the 1850's until 1931, gemstone cuts can indicate the age of a piece, if there are other stamps on the ring their style and shape can indicate age. The design and method of manufacture indicate the approximate age of a piece.
Can I return my ring if I change my mind?
Rings are big decisions, so customers are encouraged to take time to choose a ring. If it is not your dream ring, it can be returned within 30 days for a full refund.
What if the ring doesn't fit
Most rings can be re-sized. Your ring size is taken in the shop and it will be ready within a week to ten days. There is a small additional charge for this service.
What if a stone falls out of my antique or vintage ring after I have worn it?
Antique and vintage rings can be delicate depending on their style and date and sometimes a stone can get lost if it gets a knock. If this happens within six months of purchase the piece is repaired or refunded without charge. After this there may be a small charge for replacing a stone.
