We source rings from all over the world, however most of them come from England, some from Ireland, and the USA. We buy from private sellers, auctions and markets.
How old is Antique Jewellery and Vintage Jewellery, What does Modern Antique and Vintage style mean?
Antique Jewellery is over 100 years old. Jewellery over 40 years old is considered Vintage. A few of the pieces were made in the last forty years but in the style of another era; some of these are preowned some new.
If there is no hallmark on a ring how can it be dated.
There are many identifying characteristics of Jewellery from the different eras; the metal used, the style and design, method of manufacture, cut of the gemstones, purity of gold, and the kind of stamps that might be present on a ring. All these together indicate an approximate age of a piece.
What happens after a piece is sourced
Each piece is cleaned in the Ultrasound machine and inspected for any repairs or damage. Then it is examined under magnification for hallmarks and gold purity. Diamonds and Gemstones are tested with electronic equipment and diamonds graded if this is possible. If there is no hallmark gold will be acid tested to find out if it is 9kt, 18kt or 22kt gold.
