Georgian garnet and diamond ring, with a rectangular purple pink garnet, a rare antique ring.

A rare and stunning Georgian ring set with a garnet and old rose cut diamonds. A ring with a beautiful coloured garnet rectangular cut stone. The band has unusual curved gold pieces overlapping on the shoulders.

Measurements and marks:
The square faceted garnet in the centre measures 8mm x 6mm and exhibits a deep shade of purple-pink. The thirteen diamonds are old rose cuts. Ring size L,6. The setting is closed backed; typical of georgian pieces. The piece tests 10kt -12kt gold.

Condition:
The ring is in good condition. One of the old cut diamonds has been replaced and the piece re-polished.
