An Antique Georgian diamond ring set in both silver and gold; the ring features eight old cut diamonds surrounding a central ninth diamond. The diamonds are partially obscured by their silver cup style settings. This is a unique Georgian piece from the mid 17th century - early 18th century, a beautiful piece that features the subtle diamonds that flickered in the candlelight of the era.

Measurements and marks:
The back of the setting has a typical Georgian pattern of radiating lines and the silver features a milligrain detail, at its edge. The yellow gold band with floral shoulders may be a later replacement, a partial stamp might indicate this or that it was stamped later. The piece tests 12-14kt gold. Ring is size O, 7.5. Rings are re-sizeable.

Diamonds:
The setting of nine diamonds is 12mm in diameter, the central diamond has an estimated diameter of 4.1mm, this surrounding halo of diamonds 3mm. It is not possible to estimate the carat weight of rose cut diamonds in a closed back setting, if these were modern diamonds they would be estimated by their diameter giving a carat weight of approximately 1.25cts however these are rose cut diamonds are flat at the back and partially obscured in their setting.

Condition:
The ring is in very good condition. It is possible that the band was replaced. The back of the setting shows where the silver has worn and indicates it's old age.

Additional Information:
Each ring is shipped in velvet ring boxes, tied with ribbon. Included is a jewellery assessment with the piece that details the marks and gemstone information.
